TVP, the national Polish broadcaster has selected its 2014 Eurovision entry and representative via an internal selection. The Polish broadcaster has announced that Donatan and Cleo will represent Poland at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with My Slowianie.

Donatan and Cleo are among the most sought singers in Poland today, having gained much recognition and popularity on home soil. Their 2014 Eurovision entry My Slowianie has gained much popularity in Poland and overseas in the past months, including Germany, UK, Scandinavia and Italy.  The song will be shortened to 3 minutes in order to comply with the Eurovision Song Contest rules and regulations. TVP is also considering releasing an English/Polish version of the entry.

In 2014 we will see Poland return to the Eurovision Song Contest after a 2 year break.Poland withdrew from the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 and has missed out competing in the event in 2012 and 2013. Poland’s last participation at the Eurovision was in 2011 when Magdalena Tul competed in Dusseldorf with Jestem, failing to qualify to the grand final.

Poland debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 with Edyta Gorniak‘s To nie ja, placing 2nd (Poland’s best result at the Eurovision Song Contest). The country is yet to win the event.
