Tonight, five acts competed in the second semi final of Söngvakeppnin 2014, Iceland’s national pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.

After the votes were counted, the Icelandic public made the decision to send the following two to the final:

  • F.U.N.K. – Þangað til ég dey
  • Pollapönk – Enga fordóma

They will join the other two acts chosen from the first semi final:

  • Greta Mjöll Samúelsdóttir – Eftir eitt lag
  • Gissur Páll Gissurarson – Von

The final will take place on 15 February. The running order has not been announced.

Iceland will compete in the first half of the first semi-final on 6 May 2014.  They debuted in 1986 and their best result to date is second place, both in 1999 and ten years later in 2009.  They finished in 17th place last year with the song Ég á líf.
