Dutch broadcaster AvroTros has announced today that Ilse DeLange and Waylon will represent the Netherlands at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.

A special press conference was held today at the AvrosTros’s Wisseloord studios, in Hilversum in order to officially reveal the names of the 2014 Dutch Eurovision representatives.

Ilse DeLange and Waylon will participate as duo as The Common Linnets, the joint project that they have been working on together in secret. Both DeLange and Waylon are well known in The Netherlands. Ilse is among one of the most sought after singers in The Netherlands today, enjoying fame and recognition. Ilse’s songs have enjoyed major success on home soil, her  singles So Incredible and Miracle,  have charted high in the Dutch charts.

Ilse DeLange is currently one of the judges in the popular tv show The Voice of Holland aired on private Dutch television channel RTL 4.

The Netherlands debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 and is one of the founder members of our favourite television show. The country has won the event 4 times (1957, 1959, 1969 and 1975).

Anouk represented The Netherlands at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo with Birds, achieving a 9th place in the final.
