The Eurovision Song Contest has had a following outside Europe itself for a long time.

Even in the United States of America the contest has recently been gathering more support, and parties like the monthly Europhoria is bringing it to fans over there.

The Hardware bar has teamed up with Israelis Gilad Mandelboim and Itai Eithan Shamir to bring this monthly Eurovision party to Americans and Europeans living in New York since December.

Now the team are also bringing their party to Malmö as a garden tea dance, on Friday 17 May from 13.00 to 17.00 CET at the Euro Fan Café in Folkets Park.

There will also be a live Eurovision Song Contest viewing party in New York for the final on 18 May at the Hardware Bar and it will take place at 14.00 local time.

In addition there is the monthly Europhoria party at the Hardware Bar on Monday 13 May at 19.00 NY time.

No national channels transmit the Eurovision Song Contest in the United States, but fans are still making an effort to take part and follow the longest running entertainment event on TV. Do let other fans know of other similar events in the comments below!

It was reported some years ago (in 2006) that the North American network NBC would be planning an American version based on the Eurovision Song Contest format, but the plans have not seemed to have materialised to this day.
