It is just under a week until the first artists will be taking to the stage for their first rehearsals in Malmö Arena.

The stage build has been finished and the stand-by artists, or students from Malmö’s Heleneholm Gymnasium, have been practising on the stage already this week.

The students have learned all the songs in this year’s song contest and have been singing them in the first dummy rehearsals on the brand new Malmö Arena stage.

The students have rehearsed all the songs in their original languages and with the choreographies, and they are performing them in dummy rehearsals which will be recorded and send for the participating delegations, who can then comment on the staging and the lights in a realistic way.

The first artist rehearsals in Malmö Arena start on Monday 6 May.

This year these first rounds of rehearsals will not be open to the members of the media, like in previous years.

Media representatives can however follow the proceedings on big screens in the Euroclub at Slagthuset, right across on the other side of Malmö.

The amount of footage will be thus limited this year, and rehearsal videos and photos will be not appearing on the internet in the same way as in many previous years.
