Gianluca Bezzina, who as well as being the Maltese entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 is a practicing doctor, has taken part in a national blood drive to help address the shortage in blood supply in Malta, and to raise awareness of the need to donate blood.

Dr Gianluca, who is also a blood donor, took part in the drive, held on 27 April 2013 near Valletta in Malta, along with comic duo Gorg u Pawlu and representatives from the European and Maltese government. He has been a practicing doctor since July 2012, and will represent Malta in Malmö with his song Tomorrow.
