Farid Mammadov, the 2013 Azerbaijani representative visited the beautiful Lithuanian capital Vilnius after visiting Athens and Rome.

Farid Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s entry for Eurovision 2013 spent April 14-15 in Lithuania, the third stop on his pre-Malmo tour.

Farid was the subject of an interview by Lietuvos rytas (Lithuanian morning), the country’s biggest print publication, which noted him as –one of the best vocalists that  has emerged in Azerbaijan for many years.

One of the highlights of Farid’s trip to Lithuania was when he experienced  to  perform live on the famous Lithuanian television show Chorų karai(Choir Wars) which is aired national channel TV3. He had the  opportunity to perform his Eurovision entry  Hold Me with a chorus for the very first time.

Hold Me, the song that Dimitris Kontopoulos composed specially for me, sounded really different with a chorus — even more energetic and romantic. I’m very happy to have had such a chance and on such a great show,Farid said.

Farid ended thi short visit, his first to Lithuania, with an  interview on Labas ettas, Lietuva [Good morning, Lithuania] television show where he had a chance to share his thoughts about his forthcoming Eurovision participation and his preparations for Malmo. The Azerbaijani artist also got the chance to perform his Eurovision entry Hold Me for the Lithuanian audience.

 

Farid Mammadov will represent Azerbaijan at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest with Hold me.  He will compete in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest semi-final 2.

Azerbaijan debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 and has won the event once,  in 2011 with Ell and Nikki’s Running scared.
