The 20-year-old winner of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will release her debut album on 6 May.

The album is called Only teardrops after her Danish Eurovision Song Contest entry for Malmö.

Emmelie has written the music herself in collaboration with many of Denmark’s biggest songwriters.

The songs are very personal to Emmelie and she has sought inspiration from many of her favourite books and films, like Wothering heights and Jonathan Livingstone Seagull.

The album is described as a pop album with folk elements, quite like Only teardrops.

Many of the songs have big string arrangements, recorded with the Polish Symphony Orchestra in Warsaw.

There will be symphonic version of Only teardrops as well as Teardrops overture featured on the album.

Denmark will take part in the first semi-final in Malmö on 14 May.
