Cezar will represent Romania at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with the song It’s my life. The Romanian singer  won the 2013 Romanian Eurovision national final earlier this month.

Currently Cezar is busy preparing for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. The 2013 Romanian entry has been composed and written by Cristian Faur.

Who is Cezar?

Cezar is considered, by the critics, one of the most talented contrateuneurs of his generation, due to his ambitous and special vocal techniques. Cezar’s unique sound led his fans add The  Voiceto his name.

He has  participated in many events along with many  prestigious world acclaimed artists: Viorica Cortez, Jordi Savall, Sara Mingardo, Bobby McFerrin, Magda Olivero.

Cezar is often invited to sing in the most important festivals and on well-known stages in the country as well as in Europe. He has had the honour of performing along some of the most  famous conductors: Fabio Biondi, Alan Curtis, Corrado Rovaris, Emanuelle Villaume, Ottavio Dantone, Diego Fasolis, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Werner Ehrhardt, George Petrou, Sergio Ciomei, Sergio Azzolini, Nicolae Moldoveanu, Vlad Conta, Ketil Haugsand. His musical repertoire is very large and rich including  vocal-simphonic music and  great variety of opera performances ( he has played many roles in various opera throughout the world).

Born in 1980 la Ploieşti, Romania, in a musicians family, Cezar Ouatu started studying the piano when he was six and graduated at the  Carmen Sylva Art Highschool, in his native town, where he studied piano and vocals. In 1998 he started studying canto and baroque music and soon became well-known, due to his voice, natural legerity and unique vocal talent and skills.

In 2001 he was accepted in the Giuseppe Verdi Music Academy in Milano, and in 2004 he graduated excellent results at  the most prestigious music academies in Europe.

His first pop-opera single, Cinema Paradiso, was released on Christmas Eve, in 2012. For 2013, Cezar has already planned two international projects, with Andrea Bocelli and Angela Gherorghiu, as well as a single written especially for him by the legend of electronic music, Vangelis. Presently, Cezar works at his first pop-opera album, THE VOICE, dedicated to love.

Cezar has received many awards :  The Prize for the Best Contrateneur at the International Canto Contest ,Francisco Vinas  Award in  Barcelona (Spain); – The Great Award at the International Canto Contest -Competizione dell’ Opera in Dresden (Germany), where there were 500 participants from all over the world, – The Excelency Prize at International Canto Contest Hariclea Darclee in Brăila (Romania); – The Prize for the Best Baroque Singer at International Canto Contest Renata Tebaldi in San Marino (Republica San Marino), considered as one of the first four canto contests in Europe;- The Great Award at International Canto Contest –Premio Spiros Argiris in Sarzana (Italy).

Romania debuted at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest with Dat Bitman and is yet to win the event. The country’s best placing at the Eurovision Song Contest was in 2005 with Luminita Anghel  and in 2010 with Paula Seling and Ovi, when Romania placed 3rd.
