For the first time since 1997, the Icelandic entry in the Eurovision Song Contest will be performed in the national language. The final version of the song along with the official music video will premiere soon.

Even if one of the rules of the Icelandic national selection says that all the competing songs must be performed in the Icelandic language, all the winning songs of Söngvakeppnin were translated into English for the international audience of the Eurovision Song Contest.

This year, Eyþór Ingi Gunnlaugsson will perform his song Ég á líf in Icelandic, becoming the first ever representative of Iceland to perform the Eurovision entry in the country’s national language after 1997.

I was born on March 27th 1992 in Bucharest, Romania. When I was 13 years old, I watched the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest accidentally and since then I have been a big fan of this amazing European celebration. I'm working for Esctoday.com since 2006 and I'm very proud to be part of this wonderful team.
