Wild and extreme – those attributes are not only fit to describe last year's winner of the Eurovision Song Contest, Ruslana, but also the nature of her country. German viewers have the chance to follow Ruslana on a trip trough the great flora and fauna of the Ukraine in a TV special on 18 May, followed by a 60 minutes Eurovision special, to get in the mood for Kyiv.
German regional channel NDR dedicates one edition of its series Expeditionen ins Tierreich to the exciting animal kingdom of this year's Eurovision Song Contest host country, the Ukraine. Watch bears and wolves wander through the Carpathian Mountains or see Ruslana swimming with dolphins near Krimea. Being the nature-loving power woman she is, nobody would fit better to present this fascinating aspect of her home country than Ruslana herself.
The 45 minutes show is followed by a 60 minutes music special named Tour d'Eurovision, which should really set you in the mood for this year's edition of the Eurovision Song Contest from Kyiv.
Expeditionen ins Tierreich – Mit Ruslana durch die Ukraine sets off at 20:15 CET, to be followed by Tour d'Eurovision at 21:00 CET. Both shows are to be seen on German regional channel NDR, also widely available through satellite.
