Esctoday.com has learned that Russia is yet to decide the method and mechanism it will use to select their 2013 Eurovision entry and representative. The Russian national broadcaster C1 Russia will be revealing more information in due course.

It is yet unclear if Russia will opt for an internal selection or a national final in order to choose their song and singer for Malmo. Last December Channel  1 Russia invited artists and composers wishing to represent Russia at the forthcoming Song Contest to send in their applications to the broadcaster via an online form on their official website.

Russia debuted at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin with Youdiph’s Vechni Stranik, and has graced the Eurovision stage 16 times. Since the year 2000 Russia has been in the final every year, and taken silver thrice and bronze twice as well. Russia won Eurovision gold in 2008  when Dima Bilan triumphed in Belgrade with Believe and gave Russia the honour of hosting the 20009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow.
