International recording artist Patricia Kaas, who represented France on the occasion of the Eurovision Song Contest held in Moscow in 2009, released the second single extracted from her tribute album Kaas chante Piaf.
Back in November, Patricia Kaas released the album Kaas chante Piaf, a selection of Edith Piaf’s most memorable songs re-recorded with the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The release date coincided with the launch of a huge 150-date world tour featuring a unique show mixing videos and polished staging of Edith Piaf’s songs.
After the famous L’Hymne à l’amour as a first single, the popular singer decided to release her version of a much less known song by Edith Piaf entitled Avec ce soleil, to celebrate the worldwide known French diva who passed away 50 years ago. A song Patricias Kaas admitted not to know that much untill Serge Lama, the 1971 French Eurovision entrant, suggested she should sing it.
The album Kaas chante Piaf has sold more than 60,000 copies since its release in France, making this ambitious project a success. The world tour proves even more successful so you’d better check our event section to find out when Patricia Kaas will pass by your country.
