RAI, the Italian national broadcaster has announced the names of the 14 candidates that will compete jn the forthcoming 2013 San Remo Song Festival, in the BIG (well known artists) category. Raphael Gualazzi is back in San Remo after 2 years. This time he will be competing in the BIG category. Last time he competed in the Young Artists category. He represented Italy at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, achieving an honourable 2nd placing . Rai hasn’t decided the mechanism and method it will use to select the 2013 Italian Eurovision entry. Hence it is unclear if Rai will select their representative internally or via the San Remo Song Festival.
Each of the candidates will be competing with 2 entries. Below you can find the list of the 14 candidates:
