LRT, the Lithuanian national broadcaster has informed Esctoday.com that the first show of the 2013 Lithuanian national selection will kick off on Saturday 20 October and will be televised on LRT. The broadcaster has also informed Esctoday.com that they will air a total of 10 shows (2 introduction shows, 5 qualifying heats, 2 semi-finals and the grand final). An 11th show might be added to the list, a solo concert show of the winner. The shows will be held on Saturdays, whilst the day of the final is yet to be confirmed.
LRT has received around 60 entries for their 2013 Eurovision national selection. The competing candidates will be presented during the first 2 introduction shows on 20 and 27 October. During these 2 introduction shows the competing candidates will sing a song of their own choice in order to showcase their vocal skills and talent, hence they will not sing their competing competing entries during these first 2 shows.
The Lithuanian national selection will be hosted by popular Lithuanian television host Andrius Rožickas. All the shows will be aired on LRT and will be streamed on the official website of LRT.

3 November – heat 1
10 November – heat 2
17 November – heat 3
24 November – heat 4
1 December – heat 5
8 December – semi-final 1
15 December – semi-final 2
20 December – final (Date to be confirmed)
Lithuania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 Ovidijus Visniauskas with Lopisine mylimaj and is yet to win the event. Lithuania’s best result at the Eurovision Song Contest is a 6th placing in 2006 with LT United’s We are the winners.
