ORF,  the national Austrian broadcaster  has informed Esctoday.com  that a total of 5 acts will be competing at the 2013  Austrian Eurovision national final.  This time the broadcaster has opted for a brand new method and mechanism to select the Austrian Eurovision representative, ORF  will scout for the potential candidates. ORF has released the rules and regulations for the 2013 Austrian national final. The Austrian national final will be held on the 15th of February in Vienna.

Thomas Rabitsch,  will be the man in charge of the scouting process, he is no new name to the Eurovision Song Contest as he reached the  Eurovision final with Nadine Beiler in 2011. Ralf Strobl and Anja Rabitsch will join Thomas Rabitsch in order to search for the best candidates, they accompanied Nadien Beiler in  Düsseldorf in 2011.

Singers and artists wishing to take part can send in their applications to ORF. The deadline for the submission of applications is the first week of November.Candidates wishing to compete at the 2013 Austrian national final can do so by sending their applications to the link below:

Austria debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 and has won the event in 1966 with Udo Jurgen’s Merci Cheri.
