RTSH, the Albanian national broadcaster has confirmed and informed to Esctoday.com that Albania will participate at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest next May in Sweden. RTSH has informed Esctoday.com that the annual Albanian song contest Festival i kenges will be held from the 20th- 22nd of December 2012 and hence will yet again select the 2013 Albanian Eurovision entry and representative. The winner of Festival i kenges 2012 will win the golden ticket to Malmö.
RTSH will be revealing more details regarding the 2012 Festival I Kenges in due course. Albania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 with Anjeza Shahini’s The Image of You. Albania is yet to win the event, the country’s best placing at the Eurovision Song Contest was in 2012 with Ronna Nishliu’s Suus, which ahchieved a 5th placing.
