RUV, the Icelandic national broadcaster has informed and comfirmed to Esctoday.com that the 2013 Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins final will be held on February the 9th, the venue is yet to be announced. RUV has also revealed the dates of the semifinals and Recap Show to Esctoday.com. The Icelandic broadcaster will be working earnestly and very hard in order to showcase an extraordinary show in their quest to choose their entry and represantive for Malmo.
Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2013 Schedule:
Semifinal 1- January 12th 2013
Semifinal 2- January 19th 2013
Semifinal 3- January 26th 2013
Recap Show- February 2nd 2013
Final- February 9th 2013
Artists and composers can send in their entries to RUV until the 8th of October. RUV informed Esctoday that foreign composers will be allowed to participate in the selection in collaboration with local Icelandic composers, hence 2/3 of the song written by the Icelandic composer whilst 1/3 by the foreign composer.
