The City of Vienna has unveiled further details regarding the Eurovision 2026 Turquoise Carpet in Vienna.
The Eurovision 2026 Turquoise Carpet in Vienna is scheduled to be held on Sunday 10th May at the Rathhausplatz. The competing acts from the 35 competing countries will walk the Turquoise Carpet from the Burgtheater to the Rathaus in alphabetical order with host country Austria concluding the walk.
The event will be broadcast live ORF 1 and will be able accomodate circa 30,000 spectators.
The Woodstock Allstar Band will welcome each delegation with music that represents their country, while the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra will add a ceremonial touch. The event is set to culminate with JJ’s winning song for Austria, Wasted Love, performed with the RSO Vienna.
The Opening Ceremony and Welcome reception will be held at the Vienna City Hall which is adjacent to the City Hall Square.
What will happen at the Turquoise Carpet?
During the Turquoise Carpet event, competing acts at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest will be able to meet and greet their fans and the assembled press. The 2026 Eurovision hopefuls will be seen in their best attire and designer outfits.
At the opening ceremony, the Mayor of Vienna and officials from ORF, EBU and the City of Vienna will officially welcome the 2026 Eurovision participating countries, delegations and artists to Vienna.
The 2026 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled on 12, 14 and 16 May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna.
