RTVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, has kicked off preparations for the sixth edition of Benidorm Fest.

RTVE will open the song submission window for Benidorm Fest 2026 on April 6th with the deadline set on July 12th.

The Spanish national broadcaster has also confirmed that the artistic team for Benidorm 2027 will be the same as in 2026: Sergio Calderon (artistic director), Borja Rueda (choreographer) and Ari Levela (visual director).

A special press conference was held at RTVE’s Headquarters in Madrid where RTVE’s key officials attended the event: Cesar Vallejo ( Benidorm Fest Producer/ Spanish HoD at Eurovision), Maria Eizaguirre Comendador ( Head of Communication and Participation at RTVE), Ana Maria Bordas (RTVE Content Director/ Eurovision Reference Group Chair), Sergio Calderon (RTVE Director).

This year the winner of Benidorm Fest 2026 will not represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 as Spain has withdrawn from the competition due to Israel’s participation in the event.

It is yet uncertain if Spain will compete at Eurovision 2027 and if Benidorm Fest 2027’s winner will represent Spain at the ESC 2027.
