RAI, the Italian national broadcaster, has announced the Italian commentators for Eurovision 2026 in Vienna.

Elettra Lamborghini and Gabriele Corsi will be have the grand honour of commentating the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 live from Vienna for the Italian audience.

RAI will broadcast the the two semi-finals on 12 and 14 May on Rai 2, whilst the Grand Final on 16 May will be broadcast on Rai 1. Italy will be represented by Sal Da Vinci at the ESC 2026 with his entry ‘Per Sempre Si’.

RAI’s official press release reads:

A new duo, completely new in terms of training and artistic background, will make their debut as Italian hosts of the next edition, the 70th, of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna: veteran Gabriele Corsi and newcomer Elettra Lamborghini.
This will be Corsi’s sixth consecutive Italian Eurovision commentary and his eighteenth overall commentary appearance, a record that confirms his role as the iconic face of the contest for Rai viewers. For Elettra Lamborghini, however, it will be a first: a singer, television personality, and star with a popularity spanning both music and entertainment, she will bring a different perspective to the Italian broadcasting booth, more instinctive and spectacular, yet still familiar with the Eurovision universe.

RAI official press relase continues to read:

The official announcement came as a surprise during the press conference presenting Canzonissima, the new Rai 1 show of which the singer is a member. The artist was approached directly by Rai Prime Time Director Williams Di Liberatore, who asked her live if she would like to join Gabriele Corsi in hosting the Italian edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Elettra Lamborghini’s response was immediate, to everyone’s amazement and a celebratory atmosphere: a yes that effectively made the new commentating duo official. Milly Carlucci added a touch of irony to the moment, jokingly commenting that the “marriage” had been celebrated right there, in front of the journalists.

RAI official press release concludes:

Elettra Lamborghini’s presence has long been intertwined with the world of Eurovision. In 2021, she was in Rotterdam with her husband Afrojack, one of the guests at the event, experiencing the backstage atmosphere firsthand. “I’m very happy also because I went to see Eurovision years ago and it’s truly a fantastic show, so I’m honored,” she said immediately after the event. Finally, Elettra Lamborghini won’t be the only Bolognese present: in addition to her, Senhit will participate in the competition, accompanied on stage by Boy George, after winning the San Marino Song Contest, representing the Republic of San Marino.

Combining experience and debut, memory and exuberant spontaneity, the duo of Gabriele Corsi and Elettra Lamborghini promises to accompany the Italian public in an edition, the 70th, that promises to be particularly rich in symbolic and unexpected presences. A combination that brings together a seasoned professional of television storytelling and a pop personality capable of bringing rhythm, surprise and unpredictability to a show that has always made excess, energy and spectacularity its most recognizable feature.
