One more on the list! As we are getting closer to discovering all the competing entries of this year’s Eurovision event, France has officially revealed the artist who will fly their flag in Vienna. It’s Monroe!
After weeks of speculation and intense rumours spread across various media, the Eurovision veterans have now confirmed that 17-year old Monroe will represent them in Austria come May. The decision was made through an internal selection procedure, a method France has used several times in recent years to choose its Eurovision representative.
Her Eurovision entry “Regarde!”, has been released today (18:00 CET) and we can hear it on all major streaming platforms like Spotify and Deezer, while its official music video is also available on YouTube.

Who is Monroe? (And no, we don’t mean Marilyn…)
Monroe Rigby (her birth name) was born to a French mother and an American father in Salt Lake City, Utah. Despite her young age, the 17-year-old soprano has already carved out an impressive path in the music world. In January 2025, she won the talent show Prodiges in France, while in November of the same year she released her first album.
The first official teaser of the French entry popped up last Wednesday afternoon, with a short teaser of Monroe’s sound published on the broadcaster’s Eurovision accounts, without any other information shared.

France in the Eurovision Song Contest
France was one of the founding members of our beloved contest, having been one of the first 7 countries to take part in the first edition in Lugano, Switzerland. They can look back at five victories, the latest almost 50 years ago, in 1977. In recent years, France nearly reached the top in 2021, when Barbara Pravi ended up 2nd in Rotterdam with Voilà.
As a member of the “Big Four”, France will automatically qualify for the Grand Final on 16 May. This means Monroe will perform directly in the final show of Eurovision 2026.
Last year, France was represented by Louane, who sang the dynamic ballad Maman. The country ended up 3rd with the national jury votes and 14th with the televote, earning a respectable 7th place overall, with a total of 230 points.
