On 28 February 2026 at 20:15 CET, viewers across the country tuned in to watch Das deutsche Finale 2026. After several rounds of performances and a public vote, Sarah Engels with Fire has been chosen to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.
Germany is one of the founding members of the Eurovision Song Contest and part of the so-called “Big Five”, meaning the country automatically qualifies for the Grand Final. This gives the artist several weeks to prepare and refine the performance before stepping onto the Eurovision stage.
