The Fifth Semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2026 is done and dusted! We have four more finalists (two from tonigh’ts semi-final and two from the qualifying round) in the race to represent Sweden at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest. The Melodifestivalen 2026 Grad Final line up is now complete.
The fifth semi-final of Meldifestivalen 2026 was held today in Sundsvall. Six contestants took to the stage for one of the two tickets directly qualifying to the Grand Final of 7 March 2026.

Tonight’s qualifiers
Lilla Al-Fadji won the first round, whilst Sanna Nielsen came on top of the second round. They will both advance to the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2026. Placed third Meira Omar qualified for the Final Qualifier Round which was held tonight after the fifth semi-final.
Final Qualifier Round
A total of five acts battled for two spots in the Grand Final during the Quaflier Final round. Meira Omar and Robin Bengtsson have qualified to the Grand Final after battling it out at the Qualifer Round today.
Melodifestivalen 2026
Melodifestivalen 2026 consists a total of six live televised shows. The competition will be travelling to six different cities across Sweden, kicking off in Linkoping on Saturday 31 January and concluding in Stockholm on Saturday 7 March.
Gina Dirawi and Hampus Nessvold have the grand honour of hosting this year’s edition of the Swedish national selection- Melodifestivalen 2026.

A total of 30 songs will compete in the Swedish national selection, 6 songs will compete in each of the five semi-finals, a total of 12 songs will compete at the Melodifestivalen 2026 Grand Final for the golden ticket to Austria. The 2026 Swedish Eurovision entry and will be determined via a mixed public televoting/international jury deliberation.
