The First Semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2026 is done and dusted!  We have the first two finalists in the race to represent Sweden at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest.

The first semi-final of Meldifestivalen 2025  was held today in Linkoping . Six contestants took to the stage for one of the two tickets directly qualifying to the Grand Final of 7 March 2026.

Tonight’s qualifiers

Greczula won the first round, while A*Teens1  came on top of the second round. They will both advance to the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2026. Placed third, Jacqline has qualified for the Final Qualifier Round scheduled on Saturday 28 February, which will take place just after the Fifth Semi-final.

Melodifestivalen 2026

Melodifestivalen 2026 consists a total of six live televised shows. The competition will be travelling to six different cities across Sweden, kicking off in Linkoping on Saturday 31 January and concluding in Stockholm on Saturday 7 March.

Gina Dirawi and Hampus Nessvold have the grand honour of hosting this year’s edition of the Swedish national selection- Melodifestivalen 2026.

  • 14/02/2026- Melodifestivalen 2026 Semi-final #3- Kristiansand
  • 21/02/2026- Melodifestivalen 2026 Semi-final #4- Malmo
  • 28/02/2026- Melodifestivalen 2026 Semi-final #5- Sundsvall
  • 07/02/2026- Melodifestivalen 2026 Grand Final- Stockholm

A total of 30 songs will compete in the Swedish national selection, 6 songs will compete in each of the five semi-finals,  a total of 12 songs will compete at the Melodifestivalen 2026 Grand Final for the golden ticket to Austria. The 2026 Swedish Eurovision entry and will be determined via a mixed public televoting/international jury deliberation.
