The 2024 Swiss Eurovision champion has decided to return their Eurovision trophy back to the EBU in protest to Israel’s participation at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest.  Martin Green CBE ( Eurovision Director) has released a statement regarding this matter.

Nemo will return their Eurovision trophy to the EBU in Geneva due to Israel’s participation at the ESC and the witdhrawal of various countries from the competition next year ( Slovenia, Spain,The Netherlands, Ireland and Iceland).

Nemo’s decision has gone viral on the social media platforms and has been reported by most of the major European media and news outlets including the BBC.

Martin Green CBE (Eurovision Director) gave the BBC the following statement in the wake of the latest developments:

‘We’re saddened that Nemo wishes to return their trophy which they deservedly won in 2024. We respect the deeply held views Nemo has expressed and they will always remain a valued part of the Eurovision family’
