The Dutch national broadcaster, NOS, has announced today that the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will be broadcast in the Netherlands on NPO 1.

The Netherlands and AVROTROS have withdrawn from the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 due to Israel’s participation in the contest.

The Dutch audience will be able to watch the ESC 2026 via NPO 1 next May. NPO has requested NOS Events and NTR to host the broadcast, and the broadcasters have agreed.

NOS Events is legally responsible for broadcasting and reporting on major national and international events, such as the Summer Carnival and King’s Day. NTR is responsible for producing cultural programs.

How NOS and NTR will broadcast the event will be determined next May.

NOS Events Editor-in-Chief Heidi Wulfsen says:

We endorse the NPO’s principle that millions of Dutch viewers should be offered the opportunity to follow the Eurovision Song Contest on their own national channel, NPO 1, even though the Netherlands itself is not participating.

NPO states via a press release:

After extensive deliberation, it was decided to join forces and report on the Eurovision Song Contest from an independent and neutral role,
