The EBU (European Broadcasting Union) has relased a statement on the three returning countries to the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2026.

Moldova, Bulgaria and Romania will be back in the game next year after been absent from the competition. Moldova will back in the contest after a year’s absence, Bulgaria will be back after a three year hiatus and Romania will be back in the contest after a two year absence.

Martin Green (Eurovision Song Contest Director) says:

It’s fantastic to welcome back BNT, TVR and TRM to the Eurovision Song Contest. Their returns are a reminder of the enduring power of the Contest, the strength of our community, and demonstrate what it truly means to be United by Music.

So far 31 have confirmed their participation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, more countries are expected to confirm in due course. The official list of the Eurovision 2026 competing countries is expected to be released in December. The deadline for broadcasters to confirm their participation at ESC 2026 has been extended until mid December.

The 2026 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 12, 14 and 16 May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.
