RTCG, the Montenegrin national broadcaster, has set the date for Montesong 2025, the competition that wil determine the Eurovison 2026 Montenegrin entry and act.
Montesong 2025 is scheduled to be held on Saturday 21st December at RTCG’s Grand Studio in Podgorica. RTCG had evaluated various options in order to hold the contest with a live audience but the Montenegrin national broadcaster has opted to hold the competition at its own studios due to the costs of logistics and production
Vladana Vucinic ( Montesong 2025 Producer) says:
The production of such a demanding music TV event involves the engagement of a large number of collaborators. If we were to organize Montesong in a hall in Podgorica, and especially in another city — which would undoubtedly be great hosts — the number of rental days, accommodation and everything else would increase significantly.
Vladana adds:
It is true that Montesong is a kind of synonym for the Montenegrin selection of a representative at the largest music competition in the world – Eurovision, but we also see this festival as a platform for the promotion of the Montenegrin music scene, Montenegrin artists. All public broadcasters in the region invest even more money in festivals and selections of a similar nature, and therefore in the development of the national music scene. This is the obligation of the Public Service of Montenegro.
The song submission window for Montesong 2025 closes today.
Vladana says:
The competition officially ends on October 3rd. This means that it will take a few more days for all applications to reach the RTCG address. Then follows the process of checking the correctness of the applications, and then the expert committee’s statement on the submitted candidates.
Montenegro at Eurovision
Montenegro debuted at the Eurovision in 2007 and is yet to win the event. In 2025 Nina Zizic represented Montenegro at ESC 2025 with her entry ‘Dobro Dosli’.
