TRM, the Moldovan national broadcaster, organized a special consultation regarding its participation at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with Moldovan artists and producers. Moldova is yet to confirm its participation at the upcoming ESC edition in Austria.

Moldova withdrew from the Eurovision Song Contest this year but broadcast the event live, it seems that the country is eyeing to return to the contest next year. TRM has kicked off consultations with Moldovan artists, musicians and producers in order to discuss the format of its national selection, possible changes to the rules and regulations, promotion strategies and support measures for the competing acts.

TRM’s official press release reads:

The company “Teleradio-Moldova” (TRM) has started consultations with the country’s artistic community regarding its potential participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2026.

The discussions focused on key aspects: the format of the national selection, possible changes to the regulations, promotion strategies and support measures for participants.

Concerns and challenges of the creative environment were expressed, as well as proposals for improving the conduct of the competition at the national stage.

We emphasize that the final decision on the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 has not yet been adopted. TRM is currently conducting an extensive consultation process with local artists and producers, in order to identify a formula that would correspond to the current local context.

We thank the participants for their opinions and openness. Let’s succeed together!
