ORF, the Austrian national broadcaster has opened the song submission window for Eurovision 2026 and has set the date for the 2026 Austrian national final.

Vienna Calling- Who Sings for Austria?‘- the 2026 Austrian national final- is scheduled to be held on Friday February 20th in Vienna. A total of 12 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Eurovision 2026 and the right to represent Austria at the ESC on home soil.

The show will be broadcast live on ORF 1. ORF has opened the song submission window for the 2026 Austrian national final and set the deadline for 15 October 2025. You can apply here.

Artists wishing to compete at the 2026 Austrian national final have to comply with the following requirements:

  • The song must not have been commercially released or performed before September 1, 2025 (this date also applies to performances or announcements on social networks).
  • The minimum age of the performers is 16.
  • There must be a maximum of six people on stage during the performance.  
  • Each performer may only compete for one country.
  • The song must be performed live with half playback.
  • The entry must be a maximum of three minutes long.
  • The song must represent a creative work that was created for the most part without AI support.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna is the largest event to be held in Austria next year. Our stated goal is to involve and inspire the entire country. Now that the question of where the Eurovision Song Contest will take place has been clarified, it’s time to decide who will represent Austria. We want to make this decision together with our audience – everyone can have their say, and all artists can apply to participate starting now.

The 2026 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 12, 14, 16 of May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.
