RAI, the Italian national broadcaster, has confirmed the dates for the forthcoming edition of the Italian Song Contest- Sanremo 2026.

The 2026 Sanremo edition will be held from 24-28 February, with the Grand final set on Saturday 28 February. Sanremo 2026 will be held at the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo as tradition has it, with Carlo Conti as the artistic director and host of the competition.

RAI, the Italian national broadcaster has sealed a  three deal with the City of Sanremo to host the Sanremo Song Festival in Sanremo in 2026,2027 and 2028.

RAI is yet to publish the rules and regulations for Sanremo 2026. The winner of Sanremo is eligible to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest. RAI is yet to confirm its participation at Eurovision 2026 and it is almost certain that the 2026 Italian Eurovision act and entry will be determined via Sanremo as tradition has it.

In 2025 Olly was crowned the winner of Sanremo 2025 and thus was eligible to represent Italy at Eurovision 2025 but he declined and the 2nd placed act Lucio Corsi represented Italy at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest in Basel with his entry ‘Volevo essere un duro‘.
