LRT, the Lithuanian national broadcaster, has published the rules and regulations for the forthcoming 2026 Lithuanian national selection ‘EUROVIZIJA.LT’ and opened the song submission window for the competition.
The song submission window for EUROVIZIJA 2026 is open as of today 18th August and will close on 11 November 2025.
The 2026 Lithuanian national selection will consist of up to 6 semi-finals and 1 Grand Final depending on the amount of songs submitted. Recordings for the semi-finals will kick off on 14 January, whilst the EUROVIZIJA 2026 Grand Final is scheduled to be held on Saturday 27 February at the Twinsbet Arena in Vilnius.
Audrius Girzadas ( Lithuanian Head of Delegation/ LRT Chief Producer ) says:
This year we are taking another step towards the audience – throughout the EUROVIZIJA.LT final, it is they who will make the final decision on who will represent Lithuania in Austria. We are abandoning the previously repeated performance of three songs – in the final, everyone will compete in an equal battle, and the audience’s votes will become decisive. Also, as during the international final, there will be no more voting by phone – voting will only be done via SMS and the Internet.
