BNT, the Bulgarian national broadcaster and Bulgaria will  compete at the forthcoming 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Austria.

Thus Bulgaria joins the list of countries who have so far confirmed their participation at the upcoming 2026 Eurovision edition.

Bulgaria will be returning to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2026 after a three year hiatus. BNT is yet to determine the mechanism it will use to select the 2026 Bulgarian Eurovision entry and act.

Emil Koshlukov (BNT Director General) says:

Eurovision is a stage where cultures meet and stories are shared. BNT supports talented artists and we are happy that we were able to once again provide an opportunity for a Bulgarian artist to represent our country in front of an audience of millions.

We are very excited to welcome BNT back to the Eurovision family after a three-year hiatus. Its return is further proof that we remain united by music, as well as the immense popularity of the contest,

Bulgaria in Eurovision

Bulgaria joined the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 and is yet to win the event. The country achieved its best results in the competition in 2017 with Kristian Kostov. Bulgaria has participated 14 times in the competition and has only made it to the Grand Final 5 times.

In 2022 Intelligent Music Project represented Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin with their entry  ‘Intention‘.
