The Eurovision rumour mill is hot on the iron, with news portals reporting that the 2015 Belgian Eurovision representative Loic Nottet, has been internally selected by the French speaking national broadcaster to fly the Belgian flag at the forthcoming Eurovision edition in Austria. Will Loic Nottet return to the contest after 11 years?
Loic Nottet represented Belgium at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with his entry ‘Rythm Inside’, achieving a 4th place in the Grand Final.
French news portal Public.fr is reporting that RTBF has allegedly sealed a deal with Loic Nottet to represent Beligum at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Austria. The news portal reports that circa 40 Belgian artists were in the running to fly the Belgian flag at ESC 2026, including Mentissa who competed at Eurosong 2025.
Hence if these reports are confirmed Loic Nottet will be returning to the ESC stage for the second time, namely 11 years after his iconic participation in Vienna.
RTBF has neither confirmed or denied the rumours and is yet to make an official announcement regarding its plan of action for Eurovision 2026. So we will have to wait and see who will fly the Belgian flag at ESC 2026.
