The Mayor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig, awarded the Austrian Eurovision 2025 champion JJ with the prestigious Golden Town Hall Man Award.
A special ceremony was held yesterday at the Vienna City Hall in order to award the 2025 ESC Austrian winner JJ with the Golden Town Hall Man Award. JJ attended the special event along with his family.
Michael Ludwig, the Mayor of Vienna welcomed JJ to the Vienna City Hall and did the honours by presenting him with the prestigious award. The Mayor also reinterated that the city of Vienna is working round the clock and doing its level best to bring the Eurovision Song Contest back to the city next year.
Michael Ludwig (Mayor of Vienna) says:
It is a great pleasure for me to have presented Johannes Pietsch alias JJ with the Golden Town Hallman today.With his great voice, he has not only won the Eurovision Song Contest – he has touched an audience of millions and represented Vienna great on the world stage. He embodies a Vienna that is open and diverse and shows how far young talent can go with a lot of passion and determination. As the city of Vienna, we are doing everything to ensure that the Song Contest 2026 can take place here with us– at the place JJ calls home.
JJ is proud and honoured to have received the prestigious Viennese award.
JJ says:
I would like to thank everyone who has accompanied me on this wonderful journey. It is a great honor to be awarded the Golden Rathausmann as a Viennese citizen – a milestone I will never forget. I love Vienna more than any other city and would be delighted if the Song Contest were held in Vienna again.
Michael Ludwig (Mayor of Vienna) adds:
We already proved in 2015 that we can provide the necessary conditions and host the Eurovision Song Contest. Internationally, the contest in Vienna was also perceived as one of the best ever held,
JJ won the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest in Basel with his amazing ESC entry ‘Wasted Love’, thus giving Austria its third Eurovision victory.
