The EBU elected a new TV Committee earlier this week at the TV Assembly in Yerevan, Armenia.

RTE’s Dermot Horan (Director of Acquisitions and Co-Productions at RTÉ) has been elected as the TV Committee’s Chair along with 3 vice-chairs:
- Akwasi Ansah (NPO) – Vice-Chair – re-elected(promoted)
- Johan Aaltonen (Yle) – Vice-Chair – re-elected (promoted)
- Laetitia Huberti (RTBF) – Vice-Chair – re-elected (promoted)
Dermot Horan has served as the Vice Chair of the TV Committee from 2023-2025.

- Ana Maria Bordas (RTVE) – re-elected
- Angelo Mellone (Rai)- elected for the first time
- Anne-Catherine Nanopoulos (FTV)- re-elected
- Faruk Güven (TRT) – returns to the Committee
- Frank-Dieter Freiling (ZDF)- returns to the Committee
- Gytis Oganauskas (LRT)- elected for the first time
- Jason Emerton (BBC)- elected for the first time
- Natalija Gorscak (RTVSLO)- re-elected
- Stefano Semeria (SRG SSR)- elected for the first time

Ana Maria Bordas (RTVE)
The Head of Delegation from Spain, Ana Maria Bordas, has been re-elected for a fourth term at the EBU’s TV Committee ( she has served as the Vice- Chair of the TV Committee for terms). Ana Maria has also been elected as the Chair of the Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group and is RTVE’s Head of Original Content. Ms. Bordas is also a member of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest Steering Group.
Ana Maria Bordas is also the co-director of Benidorm Fest . Ms. Bordas has served as the Spanish Head Of Delegation at the Eurovision Song Contest from 2017-2021 & 2023-present and at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest from 2019-2020 & 2023-present.
Frank Dieter Freiling ( ZDF)
Frank Dieter Freiling is also a familiar face when it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest, he is the former Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group Chair.
About the EBU’s TV Committee
The EBU’s TV Committee oversees the operations of the EBU’s TV services and assists in steering the operational and strategic direction. The Chairman and President are nominated by the TV Committee.
The TV Committee monitors the progress of events like the Eurovision Song Contest, approves the strategy of the television services and controls the television development fund. Moreover they help establish standards and procedures. The committee meets 4 times throughout the year, with remaining business conducted electronically. Since 2013 the TV Committee also has held joint meetings with the Radio Committee.
