DR, the Danish national broadcaster, has confirmed that Denmark will compete at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Austria.
Denmark thus joins Finland and the Netherlands in the list of countries who have so far confirmed their participation at Eurovision 2026.
DR, the Danish national broadcaster has also confirmed that the host city, venue and date for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026. DMGP 2026 will be held at the Arena Nord in Frederikshavn on Saturday 14 February. The show will be broadcast live on DR 1 and DRTV at 20:00 CET.
Erik Struve Hansen (Dansk Melodi Grand Prix Director) says:
The ambition of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix is to bring Danes together across the board through music, and in its 69th year, it is an event that arouses commitment and emotions in many people. I am pleased because it means that the show, in a time when we are seeing each other more and more often, continues to be relevant and is something that people from all parts of the country relate to. We look forward to bringing the Grand Prix party to Frederikshavn and, not least, to creating a show that Danes gather around in their living rooms,
DR will be revealing further information and details regarding DMGP 2026 in due course, the Danish national broadcaster is yet to publish the rules and regulations of the competition and open the song submission window for the Danish national final.
The 2026 DMGP competing acts are set to be unveiled by early 2026, whilst the hosts of the competition are expected to be unveiled in the coming months.
Denmark joined the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 and has won the competition thrice ( 1963, 2000, 2013). In 2025 Sissal represented Denmark at Eurovision 2025 with ‘Hallucination’.
