AVROTROS has opened the song submission window for Eurovision 2026, the Dutch have kicked off their search for their ESC 2026 hopeful.

The Netherlands has opted for an internal selection for Eurovision 2026. The Dutch national broadcaster is inviting artists, composers, producers, songwriters and record labels to submit an authentic, distinctive and competitive song for Eurovision 2026. The song submission window is open until Sunday 31 August 2025. You can submit your song/entry for Eurovision 2026 to AVROTROS via [email protected]

AVTROTROS’s official press release reads:

This year, AVROTROS is once again opting for an internal selection procedure – an approach that has earned the Netherlands a spot in the finals no fewer than ten times in the past twelve years. The coming months will reveal who will continue this successful series and receive the honour of representing the Netherlands. Preference will be given to the combination of song and artist(s), but we will keep the option open to submit only a song, with a suitable artist being sought later.

Terms and Conditions for Songs

  • Not released or publicly performed before September 1, 2025.
  • Maximum duration is 3’00”.
  • Multiple songs? Submit a maximum of 3 songs.
  • Please submit song(s) in .mp3, .wav or other common format.
  • Language choice is free.

Terms and Conditions for Artists

  • Maximum 6 performers, including backing vocals and/or dancers.
  • Affiliated with a record company/label or independent label.
  • Demonstrable recent stage experience.
  • All vocals must be sung live.
  • All music is on tape; no live instruments.
  • Flexible availability from December 2025 to May 2026.
  • Age is 16 years or older on April 15, 2026.

Further procedure

  • Each submission will receive confirmation of correct receipt.
  • In a number of sessions, the committee will select a small number of promising entries.
  • The remaining entries will be used to discuss the further process.

The Netherlands in Eurovision

The Netherlands is one of the founder members of the Eurovision Song Contest and has won the competition 5 times: 1957, 1959, 1969, 1975 and 2019.

In 2025 Claude represented the Netherlands at Eurovision 2025 with his song ‘C’est la vie’.
