Another semi final, another incredible show live from St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland. The remaining sixteen acts went on stage tonight, and we have more qualified acts! The line-up for the Grand Final of the 69th Eurovision Song Contest is therefore complete.
Co-hosts Sandra Studer and Hazel Brugger took millions of viewers through more than three hours of the second semi final of the 2025 Eurovisiong Song Contest. Several special acts were also part of the programme to the delight of the audience home and in the arena.
The participants
Sixteen acts were part of this semi-final, in this order of appearance:

- Ireland – Emmy – Lika Party
- Latvia – Tautumeitas – Bur man laimi
- Armenia – Parg – Survivor
- Austria – JJ – Wasted love

- Lithuania – Katarsis – Tavo akys
- Malta – Miriana Conte – Serving
- Georgia – Mariam Shengelia – Freedom
- Denmark – Sissal – Hallucination
- Czechia – Adonxs – Kiss kiss goodbye
- Luxembourg – Laura Thorn – La poupée monte le son
- Israel – Yuval Raphael – New day will rise
- Serbia– Princ – Mila
- Finland – Erika Vikman – Ich komme
In addition to these sixteen acts, the already qualified acts from United Kingdom, France and Germany also performed and were able to vote. Other non-participating countries voted under aggregated “Rest of the World” vote.
The ten most voted countries from the televote will advance to the Grand Final on Saturday 17 May 2025. As per a recent change, there are no more juries voting in the semi finals.
About the show
The second live show was themed Eurovision fans, and was a celebration of those who make Eurovision real: Eurofans. In particular, we followed the story of superfans from Australia, Türkiye and Malta, who presented their passion for the music contest and made a special apperance in the arena.
In tonight’s semi final we saw a whole set of former Eurovision entrants from the only time the contest was cancelled, 2020. They presented the entries they could not perform in Rotterdam due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Roop (Lithuania, On fire), Efendi (Azerbaijan, Cleopatra), Destiny (Malta, All of my love) as well as Switzerland’s Gjon’s Tears (Répondez-moi).
The show continued with a colourful performance on Switzerland, its linguistic diversity and its main traits. The night ended with a reprise of the 1990 Eurovision winner Insieme (Toto Cutugno, Italy) sang by the one and only Sandra Studer.

After all votes were counted, Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer announced the ten qualified acts which will advance to this Saturday’s Grand Final:

They will join in the Grand Final of Saturday 17 May 2025 the 10 qualified acts from semi final 1.
The draw to determine in which half of the Final they will perform is expected to take place shortly after the end of the semi final. During the night the producers are expected to reveal the running order of Saturday night.
