The City of Ornskoldsvik has told SVT that it is open to host Eurovision 2026 if KAJ win Eurovision 2025 on Saturday.
Will Sweden win Eurovision for a record 8th time this Saturday? If so where would it host Eurovision 2026? Malmo has ruled out hosting the contest next year if Sweden were to win.
Ornskoldsvik applied to host Eurovision in 2024 but missed out to Malmo, the city is now interested in hosting the event next year if KAJ, who are currently the bookies’ hot favourites win Eurovision 2025 in Basel.
The Swedish city would host the contest at the Hagglunds Arena which can accommodate circa 9,800 spectators.
Magnus Haglund (Municipal Director of Ornskoldsvik) told SVT:
I think we could have a fantastic event here. I think it’s time for it to be somewhere other than in the metropolitan regions.
