SSR- SRG, the Swiss national broadcaster, has released a press release regarding the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 Public Viewing Events.
Not everyone in Switzerland will be able to attend the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel and might opt to attend one of the many public viewing events scheduled to take place. If you are planning to organize a public viewing event with more than 300 people you will need to register in advance.
Events with more than 300 people must be registered in advance.
SSR-SRG’s official press release reads:
The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) is more than just a competition – it is an international music festival that unites people from all over the world. In May 2025, it will attract millions of viewers to the screens. Public viewings can be organised so that fans all over Switzerland can celebrate together. ESC is best enjoyed with other fans, whether in bars, open-air venues or at events.
Anyone planning a public viewing in Switzerland with more than 300 people must register with SRG SSR in advance. You can register online at Public Viewings – Eurovision Song Contest and benefit from numerous advantages. The public viewing will be listed on the ESC 2025 website of the city of Basel within 10 days and will therefore receive a higher level of attention. This will make the public viewing part of Europe’s biggest music festival. It is important that admission remains free, regardless of the size of the event, as the ESC should be accessible to everyone. No branding or naming may be used.
Organisers must take into account locally applicable regulations such as SUISA fees, volume regulations and any permits for catering and technology in order to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
