BBC releases statement on the UK’s ESC 2025 entry and act

The BBC has issued a stamement regarding the UK’s Eurovision 2025 and entry. Who will represent the UK at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel?

The rumour mill in the UK is hot on the iron regarding the UK’s Eurovision 2025 hopeful and entry. There has been much speculation on the potential UK entry and the imminent announcement.

The BBC is set to reveal the UK’s Eurovision act and entry before the EBU’s deadline in March 2025.

The BBC’s statement reads:

The process to choose the act and song that will represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision Song Contest in 2025 is an internal selection process with the BBC and BBC Studios (the production arm of the BBC) collaborating together to make the decision.

Specifically BBC Studios have partnered with a leading UK music industry figure. Together they are working with UK record labels, publishers, songwriters, BBC Music and BBC Introducing to source the UK entry and song.

The act and song will be publicly announced before the European Broadcasting Union’s deadline in March 2025.

*The BBC and BBC Studios are not inviting members of the public to submit songs for Eurovision 2025.

The BBC Press Office’s press release reads:

The act and song representing the United Kingdom will be publicly announced before the European Broadcasting Union’s deadline in March 2025. Leading UK music industry figure David May is leading the search with Andrew Cartmell, Executive Producer BBC Studios North.

David previously worked closely with the BBC team in 2022 as Manager of Sam Ryder when the United Kingdom achieved runner-up position at Eurovision in Turin.

The search for next year’s act and song has been underway for several months with UK record Labels, Publishers, Songwriters, BBC Music and BBC Introducing all playing their part to find the UK act and song for Eurovision 2025
