The decision has got to be made! From Ukraine we have the first results of Vidbir 2019, the Ukranian national selection. Three acts are through. Let’s see how it went.
Different countries are moving towards the decisional phase of their respective national selections. Tonight Vidbir 2019 started off in Ukraine to determine the Ukranian representative to the Eurovision Song Contest next May in Tel Aviv.
Eight of the 16 selected acts competed tonight in the first semi-final. They were:
- The Hypnotunez – Hey!
- Letay – Myla moya
- Vera Kekelia – Wow!
- TseShow – Hate!
- Yuko – Galyna guliala
- Maruv – Siren song
- Brunettes Shoot Blondes – Houston
- Bahroma – Nazavzhdy-Navsegda

The 3-member expert jury along with the public had their say on these 8 quality acts. Sadly, we have to say goodbye to 5 of them, while 3 advance to the final. Here are the qualifiers:
- Maruv – Siren song (Total: 14 points)
- Yuko – Galyna guliala (Total: 13 points)
- Brunettes Shoot Blondes – Houston (Total: 13 points)
Eurofans were especially thrilled to see Andrey Danilko (aka Verka Serduchka, Eurovision 2007 runner-up) and Jamala (Eurovision 2016 winner) in the expert jury.
Vidbir 2019
The Ukraninan national selection to the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 goes on next Saturday 16 February with eight more acts competing in the second semi final. The Ukranian representative will be decided during the grand final, scheduled on Saturday 23 February 2019, among the six qualified finalists.
