Eurovision fan website escdaily.com reports that Georgia has applied to compete at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf. The Georgian public broadcaster has not revealed any details about their national selection nor the method to choose their entry and artist. Georgia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 with Sopho.

Georgia has confirmed its participation at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. Sofia Nizharadze represented Georgia at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Shine, ending up 9th, the highest ever placing for the Caucasian country.
