FYR Macedonia: Eye Cue film their Eurovision postcard at Marqueses de Fronteira Palace

The 2018 representatives Eye Cue from FYR Macedonia were in Portugal recently where they recorded their Eurovision postcard. They visited the Portuguese capital and were mesmerised with the Marquesese de Fronteira Palace.

The delegations and participants of the 43 participating countries at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest will be travelling to Portugal prior to the contest in order to film their respective presentation postcards. Each artist will be portrayed in an activity or a challenge.

The postcards will showcase the beauty of Portugal and will portray the Eurovision artists enjoying the sights and sounds of the host country.

The presentation postcards serve as a massive platform for the host country to promote its tourism and showcase itself on a global scale as millions of viewers tune in to watch Europe’s favorite television show. The Eurovision Song Contest reaches households beyond Europe, from Australia to Argentina, from China to New Zealand, from USA to India etc.

FYR Macedonia’s postcard

The Macedonian postcard has been filmed at the Marqueses de Fronteira Palace in Lisbon. The 2018 Macedonian Eurovision hopefuls Eye Cue will be depicted strolling through the fantastic gardens of the palace and the Galeria dos Reis (Gallery of Kings) where one can find the statues of the Kings of Portugal. Here you can also find a magnificcent  mural that borders the garden, where you can admire tiles with paintings that illustrate the months of the year, the four elements and signs of the zodiac. The Macedonian duo had the opportunity to check out the tile manufacturing process at Lamego Widow’s Ceramics Factory.

About Eye Cue

Eye Cue were selected via an internal selection in order to defend the Macedonian colours at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. They’ll fly to Kyiv with their entry Lost and Found.

Eye Cue was founded in 2008 and consists of Marija Ivanovska and Bojan Trajkovski and have gained much name, success and recognition on home soil.  The band has great experience and is amongst the most sought after music bands today in FYR Macedonia having performed at numerous events and festivals.

FYR Macedonia in Eurovision

FYR Macedonia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998 and is yet to win the competition. The country attempted to enter the competition in 1996 with Kaliopi but didn’t qualify from the pre-audio selection round.

The Balkan nation has never made it to the Top 10 of the scoreboard. Elena Risteka retains FYR Macedonia’s best result, namely at 12th placing which she achieved at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Athens..

The 2018 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 8, 10 and 12 May at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal.

FYR Macedonia is set to compete in the First-Semi-final of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon on 8 May.
