Dan Healy, who is the head of Irish Radio station 2fm has accused his rival Irish radio stations of avoiding playing Nicky’s song Sunlight.

Nicky Byrne, as well as being a former member of the successful band Westlife, is a presenter on the radio station 2fm, which Healy believes is the reason for the snub by other stations. Speaking to the Herald, he says:

Nicky Byrne is representing Ireland and some local and national radio stations will not play his song because he works for 2fm. I’ve been told that. I’ve spoken to Nicky about it.

He adds:

It’s a pity. Nicky is patriotic … he’s representing the country and we would love the radio stations to play it.

Nicky hosts a daily mid-morning show from 10am. He is due to miss 20 days of his show in May while he is in Stockholm.
