Hovi Star has won the Israeli national selection Rising Star with the song Made of stars. However, the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom reports today that special meetings were held during the weekend as the song wasn’t accepted with open arms among the local and the international fans.

A petition was created online in order to raise the awareness about the song; as the Israeli fans agree that Hovi Star is a good performer but that Made of stars might not take the country to a good placing. It has managed to get more than 500 signatures during the last day.

It was decided that Hovi Star is going to record a version to Ella Daniel’s song from the final of Rising Star, Somebody out there, which was the fan favorite across Israel and Europe, and finished third with a total of 58% during the final. He is supposed to record the song already this morning, as the Head of Delegations meeting in Stockholm will take place on next Monday, where all delegations must submit their entries for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest

If all sides will agree on this step, Somebody out there should be declared as the Israeli entry for Eurovision 2016 very soon. It was also agreed by the team behind Made of stars, Doron Medalie and Chen Metzger Adar. In any case of failure, Made of stars will remain as the Israeli entry and will be performed by Hovi Star in Stockholm.
