The two successful Ukrainian representatives Rulsana (2004) Andrey Danilko (Verka Serduchka, 2007) will be a part of the jury for the Ukrainian national selection to Eurovision 2016, along with the composer and producer Konstantin Meladze.

Konstantin Meladze praised his colleagues of the jury for their Eurovision Song Contest achievement, adding that “they are not just interesting musicians – they are professionals representing two different musical genres, which is very important when evaluating the participants of the national final”

It is notable that Andrey Danilko will appear as himself – a producer and composer – and not as Verka Serduchka.

“I have been a guest in national selections all over Europe and I am ready to share the knowledge and experience with the future winner of the national selection. Eurovision is not just a musical event – it’s a competition that brings people together”, said Ruslana.

The semifinals of Ukraine’s national selection will take part on 6 and 13 February at 19:00 local time, with the final being held on 21 February at the same time. The winner will be decided by a mixture of televoting along with the jury’s votes. Auditions for the selection has been held in central Ukrainian cities in December and the final lineup will be announced in due course.

Thanks to the collaboration between the Ukrianian broadcaster NTU and the commercial channel STB, all three shows of the selection will be broadcasted live on both channels. STB will also take care of the financial costs of the winner’s travel to the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm.
