It's time for the fifth round of nominations for the 2008 esctoday.com awards. After the female performances and vocal performances it will now be decided who is going to be nominated in the categories Best male performance and Best male vocal performance.

Best male performance

In 2006, this award went to Dima Bilan from Russia who would win the Eurovision Song Contest two years later. Koldun from Belraus, who was often compared to Dima Bilan during the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, was the winner of this award last year. In 2008, twelve male soloists took part in the competition and can be nominated in this category (there will also be an award for Best band performance).

Male vocal performance

This award was introduced last year and Roger Cicero from Germany won it for his performance of Frauen regieren die Welt. Apart from the twelve solo performers, the male parts of the duos from Iceland and Romania and the male lead singers of the groups from San Marino, Latvia and F.Y.R. Macedonia as well as the all-male groups and duos from Estonia, Azerbaijan, Finland, Turkey and Croatia can be nominated.
